Budget statements
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is an agency in the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (ITRDCA) Portfolio.
Each year we must produce a chapter for the ITRDC Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS), including, where relevant, Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES) and Portfolio Supplementary Additional Estimates Statements (PSAES).
These statements identify the allocation of resources to the ACMA's outcomes. They are important for interpreting the annual Appropriation Acts, which provide funding to the ACMA.

Cost recovery implementation statement
A cost recovery implementation statement (CRIS) shows how charging – on a cost recovery basis – for a specific government regulatory activity is put in place. Each regulatory activity that is cost recovered, regardless of financial value, must be documented in a CRIS before new or revised charges can begin.

Financial year 2022-2023
During the 2022–2023 financial year, the ACMA’s total expenditure on legal services was $5,248,912 consisting of $3,965,748 for internal legal services and $1,283,164 for external legal services.

Senate Continuing Order Number 12 (Harradine motion)
Senate Continuing Order No. 12, also known as the ‘Harradine motion’, requires each Australian Government department or agency to publish an indexed list of the titles of all relevant files created in a six-month period in the central office of that department or agency, including new parts of existing files.

Grant agreements
Audit and Risk Committee Charter
The ACMA has an Audit and Risk Committee in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and Rule. The Committee’s role is to provide independent advice and assurance to the Chair on the appropriateness of the ACMA’s financial reporting, performance reporting, system of risk oversight and management, and system of internal control.
Ministerial directions
This is a register under section 67 of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005 (the Act) of all directions given to the ACMA under the Act or any other act, and directions given under the previous Australian Communications Authority Act 1997.
Official hospitality, gifts and benefits register
The ACMA’s register details the hospitality, gifts and/or benefits valued at over $AUD100 (GST exclusive) relating to the ACMA Chair, Members and all employees from 18 October 2019.
The register will be updated on a quarterly basis.
Privacy Impact Assessment Register
The ACMA has prepared the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Register in line with section 15 of the Privacy (Australian Government Agencies – Governance) APP Code 2017.
The PIA Register sets out the PIAs the ACMA has completed since 1 July 2018. The PIA register will be updated as new PIAs are completed and will be reviewed at least twice a year. The last review of the PIA Register was conducted on 15 November 2023.

Regulation Impact Statements (RIS)
A RIS must be prepared for policy proposals that introduce or abolish regulation. A RIS analyses the most efficient and effective options available. It is assessed by the Office of Best Practice Regulation in line with The Australian Government Guide to Regulation.
